I'm predicting a relatively large vote-- say high single or even maybe double digits-- for Scozzafava. From disgruntled local Republicans who don't cotton to either conservative crazies or the national GOP telling them who to support, but can't stand the idea of voting for a Democrat, either.

Otherwise?  Agree, it will be a squeaker.

Besides making it 27-2 in the state, besides stopping (or at least slowing) the "Great GOP night" narrative, this really proves that when the teabaggers nominate one of theirs, even the Republicans don't want them! I can sleep SO much easier tonight with this evidence in my head.

Frankly I will not be surprised by the outcome of this election.  I note this because the three candidates in this race were not the best -- they were nominated based on how much LUCRE they could raise.

Look at Liu's article in the TU http://blog.timesunion.com/cap... all kinds of idiotic money was thrown around -- let's allow local candidates to have a shot at these seats -- instead of folks who have tenuous but minimal connections to the district in question.  When the local smarty pants party officials  gather to give their nod to someone -- it always goes to the fool who shows up and says -- "I'll ante up $250,000 -- so nominate me."

It sickens me -- TAP needs to shift publicly-funded  election to the top of the agenda -- others wise we remain pawns and can never change what happens in DC -- much less Albany.

I say this because IMHO -- Mike Oot would have been a far better candidate -- his problem is that he's a decent local guy who is not worth kazillions -- therefore he couldn't meet the election ante of 250k.
